Kurash
Wrestlers are fluid and light. They are not a state of heavy aggression, such as might be demonstrated by heavy canvas and house paint. In Tatar culture, grappling is a celebration of brotherhood and community. It is delicate, precise, and weightless in its explosion. There is a warp and a weft to the work that are distinct from the weight of the depicted wrestlers, and, inscribed in the textile, there is also symbolism related to me, to the culture, and to the native image.
